Shady, tidal, north facing bouldering, prone to dampness and occasionally buried in stinking piles of kelp. A lot of rock exposed...much of which proves disappointing on close appraisal. However, the good stuff is very good, and Nightmares of the Kelp Forest is a phenomenal, standout highball.
Found on the north side of the Cape Cornwall headland. From the National Trust Cape Cornwall car park, walk past St Helen's Oratory to the far corner of the field. Go through the gate, turn right, and follow the obvious track (which becomes a slipway of sorts) gently down to Porth Ledden cove. Straight ahead at the back of the cove is the obvious Big Wall, with John Stille to its left. All other sectors are accessed by hopping along the boulder beach back towards Cape Cornwall. The Mooring Ring and The Arsenic Labyrinth can be viewed from the track, down on the left before the slipway is reached. It is a bit of a maze, so expect to take a bit of time finding things on first acquaintance.
No problems. NT land. It's a nice, quiet place, good for seal spotting. Keep it that way.
