Two quarried gritstone quarries overlooking Greenbooth Reservoir in Naden Valley. Some suspect rock particularly on Lower Quarry. First climbed in 1960's and recently rediscovered and cleaned up.Details of all 40 odd climbs there can be found in the next Lancashire guide. Little here for hard man but one or two quality outings. Try Robert's Romp a nice HS outing across Naden Slab and the fingery Waiting Wall in the Lower Quarry a nice 5b problem.
Approach up Woodhouse Lane off A680, passed farm, until a cattle grid at the top. Turn left here and find parking approximately 100m on the left. Access through gate, on road that carries on passed parkng. Follow for a minute or so and find the Upper Quarry on your right.
Not great but a lot better than some Lancashire quarries! Rob Davies - 30/Aug/18 |
