A terrific venue in a superb setting, and definitely worth a day or more of your time. From the steep and powerful routes at Les Abeilles to the super-long mid-grade endurance classics at Tisseurs d'Or, most needs are catered for here. The only short-coming is the lack of good routes in the 5s and below.
The walls generally face west, so get here in the morning if you're searching for shade. Some face south and are winter sun-traps. The more exposed sectors catch the wind.
Mont Gaussier is just off the D5 - south of the town of Saint Rémy. From the direction of Saint Rémy, head south on the D5 for 2.5km when you reach the first parking area on the left - this is the best place to park for everything from Secteur Route to Le Trou Souffleur. Continuing for a few hundred metres up the road reveals another parking area on the left - this leads to a steep scree-trail to the right hand end of Tisseurs d'Or, and is convenient for all the sectors between Le Lit du Monde and Tisseurs d'Or. A path links all the sectors.
