A large and busy crag, two minutes from the city of Trento, it was known by the Alpinists during the 1940s and 50s. In the 1980s, it was rediscovered by climbers who opened up almost 100 routes on this vertical wall.
La Vela is divided in two sectors with more than 80 routes of every difficulty, mainly ranging from 6a to 6c. Due to its easy access and vicinity to the city it has become a daily meeting point for the climbers who live in Trento and the surrounding area. Nearly all of the routes have been re-equipped in recent years.
You can no longer park under the crag as the road is now closed.
