Fionnphort boulder circuit (tide out) © adi3969
Extensive and scenic granite climbing on the hillside just North of Fionnphort dock. Exposed to the weather and receives lots of sun. Mostly bouldering but with some trad routes and many undocumented lines from mellow little slabs to 'last great problem' faces and aretes. The prevailing style is off-vertical walls and rounded aretes but there are some steeper lines. Family-friendly.
Park in Fionnphort and approach either from the beach or past the cemetery and a cluster of houses to gain a footpath which leads up onto the hillside.
Could do with an update to reflect the info in boulder Scotland. A lot of the problems needed a brush/ clean. Campsite is shut October to May and the pub is open Thursday to Sunday. Stopsy - 11/Jan/20 |

Lovely bouldering venue, if a little soggy under foot in places. Deserves to be better documented and could offer a vast number problems, though mainly low grade problems. I'd love to know if some of the "impossible" looking stuff is actually impossible. I didn't have much time here but I did record a couple of problems that "must" have been done before. I have added topo's in the crag photo's section and some made-up names to the routes database. JLS - 26/Sep/12 |
