Craig Nant Dwr Oer topo © Pencarth
A pleasant 40ft crag of excellent quality rhyolite situated above the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Best visited in afternoon or late evening
Crag has 2x strategically placed bolted belays or alternatively a long rope / static may be useful.
(A topo of the historic routes can be found in the crag gallery.)
Park on Bethania High Street / Penygwndwn / Maes y plas at the bend in the road at SH707452 (marked by two '+' signs on older OS maps, but neither building is now an obvious church/chapel on the ground)
Take the lane by the house to the right of Ty capel (with the old chapel fencing) where a stile accesses the incline (same access point can be used for Manod quarry up to the right).
Follow the incline for around 15 mins, climbing over a gate, and the crag is obvious just left of the track at SH715455 (just under the 'o' of Nant Dwr-oer' on OS 1:25k)
None - access land
