Climbers on Silvia, Gorro Frigi, Montserrat © Jody
Gorros covers ridge of summits running from Gorra Marinera to Gorro Frigio, along with some nearby areas.
Gorros is easily approached either from the Funicular de Sant Joan by taking path to Sant Jeroni (5 to 10 mins walk) or by walking up from the Monastery(1 hr).
Climbs are mostly multipitch.
At Montserrat, protection varies particularly on multipitch climbs. Some climbs have modern bolts, whilst others have old bolts ("burins") and some climbs are not equipped at all. Distance between bolts varies by climb and by difficulty with easy sections generally being runout. Climbs with cracks often require trad gear such as cams to protect the crack sections. The faces are harder to protect with trad gear but sometimes offer pockets for cams and large pebbles for slings.
