Rocktype Volcanic tuff
Altitude 1122m a.s.l
Faces SE
Known as the "Oregon Big Wall", it is home of the classic Oregon multipitch route called Barad Dur (8 pitches, 5.11a, mix of bolts and trad). Saw some recent development and fixed gear upgrades. Descend by traversing the summit ridge and dropping down the 3rd gully (~south) after the true summit. 3rd-4th class and can be tricky to find the first time around.
Forest road (15) used for access is well compacted dirt (2015) and easily doable in a low clearance sedan. From the parking pull-out, it's a 10 minute hike to the base of the SE face.
None. There are no bird-related closures on this crag (as of 2015).
