Lat Long: 364373,598281

Grid ref: NY643982

Approach notes

 on foot: 45mins walk

Parking 55.256220, -2.549061

Pay for the forest drive provided its open (usually may-october)
Drive along this for 2.5 miles until a sign to scaup farm is reached straight ahead, take the right bend in the car and enter the Kielder burn carpark immediately after the bend and before the bridge over the burn. From here walk back to the sign to scaup farm and after roughly 1⁄2 mile take the first left up the forest track up the hill. As of 2021, before replanting the boulders are clearly visible from

just before the turn. Follow the track uphill for just short of 1mile until another left turn up a forest track doglegs back uphill, continue on this until the boulders are visible. Right by the track through the deer gate.

Bike: you can cycle the previous
approach, but if youre up for biking
or ebiking then visiting when the
forest drive is closed will be easier. Its also much quicker by bike, being about 10-15mins from the Kielder burn parking (2-4 mins on an ebike) and
30 mins from the Kielder castle carpark, (15mins on ebike).

Park on the forest drive
