Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 290m a.s.l
Faces E
A wall composed of good rock in its upper two thirds though with a brittle band low down. This means the bolt placements are sometimes high on the starts of routes. The crag is east-facing so benefits from sunlight in the mornings, especially in summer when the sun rises early over the hillsides opposite the crag. It is fairly quick drying. A 40m rope is sufficient along with 10 clips. A clip-stick will be found useful for a couple of the starts for reasons given above.
Parking for several cars can be found in a lay-by on the east side of the B6160 approximately 400m before Kettlewell when heading north. A short distance up the road towards Kettlewell there is a gate and footpath. Follow the branch going up the hill southwards for 300m until the wall comes into view on the scar above. From a little further on strike up the hillside to the crag.
