Crag features

Short metamorphosed sandstone crag of questionable quality. Corners and faces, offering little in the way of protection. Probably best used for bouldering or not at all. There are some sheepfolds underneath which are a bit unhelpful for climbing but when laid down in, you may be able to avoid some of the wind.

Approach notes

When travelling west from Lerwick to Scalloway on the A970, take a left turn onto the B9074 just before an inlet on the left which in turn is just before Scalloway itself. Follow this over the first bridge to Trondra. Turn right at a sign to Cauldhame, post box and bus stop on your right. Take an immediate left up Old School Road for a few hundred yards until the road turns into a track. Currently (circa 2022), there is a layby on the right containing some recycling bins, a gate and a stile. It's possible to park a car or more here on the grass verge without obstructing gates or bins (see photo). The crag can be reached by going over the stile, continue to walk west until beyond the properties on your right, then head north until level with the last extremity of the second house's perimeter. This is where the crag starts and continues north for a short way, facing west.

No Access Issues

No idea about access. It's clearly not a shooting estate and is in Scotland so fill your boots unless wildlife would be disturbed, and if asked to leave then probably best to do so.
