NORMALLY UNDERWATER. These crags are only climbable when the water level in Loch Treig is substantially below normal.
Rock is a compact quartzy schist, cracks can feel like gritstone, wave washed and areas pebble worn. The lowest rocks are covered in freshwater sponges
The crag dries quickly and it is possible to climb between showers.
Alternative return: 150m north of Beach Crag a toe of wooded ground just reaches the beach between large unstable landslides - go straight up through the wood to the vehicle track.
