Crag features

Predominantly single-pitch* routes of high quality on off-vertical gneiss in a stunning location under the summit of the Seetalhorn. Don't let the 852m height gain up a ski piste put you off! (now the Seetalhorn cable car has been closed)

It is also possible to make the short ascent to the summit from the Seetalpass, the grade for this undertaking is not known to the moderator. And there is a small-ish gendarme with what appears to be a bolted route on it, easily visible just south of the pass.

*Or the 4 routes with more than one belay could be intermediate loweroffs?! It is not clear.

Approach notes

From Grächen take the Hannigalp cable car to Hannigalp 2121m then take the ski piste signed towards Seetal. Ignore the red-white signed diversion left into the greenery, it only joins the piste again. At the top cable car station 2864m take the path signed to Saas-Fee, up what is best described as a rubble heap, to the Seetalpass 2973m. Follow the path down and round to the left to the main climbing area.

One may of course forego the cable car and find an alternative walk-up from Grächen. Also, the first cable car up is 08:30, last down 17:30 (august 2020).

The UKC map is showing the Seetalpass path as closed (Covid related?) but this is not the case as of August 2020, at least as far as reaching the climbs is concerned. The rubble heap is not all that bad, mostly.
