The outcrop is situated on the ridge that forms the South -Western flank of Mt Challenger, is visible from the road and forms part of the skyline. There are three distinct crags, the upper of which lies near the top of the skyline, it is shattered and provides little in the way of climbing. The other two crags are referred to as West and East. There is enjoyable, good quality climbing to be found on the West facing end wall of the West Crag. This catches the afternoon sun and is known as Afternoon Buttress. The East Crag has a number of less intimidating lines. Care must be taken with loose rocks at the top.
Park in the layby at grid reference VC 227231. The crags can be reached in 35 to 45 minutes.
It is advised to contact the landowners at Bluff Cove Farm for permission to climb here. Tel: +500 32244
