Crag on the ramparts of the Fort above Briancon. Faces towards the bridge over the Briancon Gorge (River Durance). Granite with a lot of qaurtz. Bolts seem sound but most routes don't have a hanger for lower off - last bolt can be used or top out and walk off (carefully) down the left hand side. Wires needed to set up anchors for bringing up a second.
_Update Sept 2013_MaranaF_
This crag is in a desperate state. I would suggest in addition to the above climbers visiting this crag exercise extreme caution for falling rocks and loose material on all routes and probably avoid all routes from about No10 onwards as access is perilous.
Not worth a special trip but if you're staying in the old town and have a few hours in the evening it's okay. Work your way around the streets of the old town until you get to the path that leads towards the bridge over the gorge of the River Durance [signposted "Pont d'Asfeld"]. Watch out for dog mess in the section where routes 1-8 are as the locals all seem to let their dogs use the area as a toilet.
