The Main Crag is split into two tiers, the upper tier is an impressive 40 meter high gently overhanging wall, the lower tier is scrappy and is where the Eagles are nesting - no climbing on this tier any time of the year. See access advice below for nesting restrictions on other sections of the crag. The deep and heavily vegetated chimney of Rowan Chimney splits the Main Crag from the Bastion on the left.
There are impressive walls left and lower than the Bastion.
There is an extensive boulder field below the crag.
Either via Strath Vaich (19.5km) or Gleann Mhor (18km), bikes essential for the good estate tracks for all bar the last 1.5km. Roughly 2 hours. (E-bike would reduce this effort but also reduce all climbs by a grade).
Nesting Birds - Golden Eagles nesting on the Lower Tier of the Main Crag. No climbing on the Lower or Upper tier of the main crag or on the Bastion during nesting season March to July. The birds are being monitored by a voluntary guardian associated with the estate.
If climbing on the boulders or the other crags please be discreet and approach along the river and then ascend the slopes directly to the chosen boulder or crag. Probably best to go no higher up the slope than the Big House Boulder.
