Hill features

Pik Pobeda, or Jengish Chokusu, is the highest mountain in the Tian Shan range. Together with the nearby Khan Tengri, it is the most northerly of the 7,000+ peaks and hence suffers from colder conditions. Objective dangers are serious on this mountain making this one of the most difficult high altitude peaks.

Summit of this hill

This summit has been climbed in no logbooks.

Approach notes

It is usually climbed from the north from a basecamp on the South Inylchek Glacier. The season is short; a 6-8 week period in July and August. Basecamp can be approached by a multi-day trek up the Inylchek Glacier or quicker but riskier (it has been known to crash from time to time), by a fairly regular helicopter service.
