Restricted Access

There are restrictions on private car access from Covadonga to Lagos de Covadonga between 8.30 am and 9 pm during the following dates: Easter, May weekends and from 1st June to 16th October

and between 8.30 am and 7 pm during the following dates: last weekends of October and bank-holiday weekends in November and December. 

If you want to get to the trail head within those periods in your own car, you must either drive in before 8.30 am or show proof of booking/reservation at any of the mountain huts. Otherwise you will need to use public coach service or hire a taxi. 

250m, 5 pitches. A true classic! Quite possibly the most repeated and reliable winter route in the whole of Picos de Europa. It's not rare to see ascents as late as May.
Although it receives the name of corredor (gully/couloir), it is more a ramp and half-pipe that ascends the north face from right to left; visible from kilometres away.
Approach to the start of the route in winter conditions takes between 4-5 hrs, leaving Vegarredonda hut 1 1/2 - 2 hrs in.
Descent is by abseiling the line (fixed stations). Consideration must be given to the third abseil (3rd pitch of the climb too). It is a diagonal/traverse abseil, rounding a convex buttress; some people prefer to downclimb it placing gear on lead and retrieving it on second.
