This gives a different route onto the North Ridge. Start at Blaen-y-Nant and walk into the cwm aiming for the wet crag of Craig y Rhaeadr; the scramble ascends a gully to the left of this. A stream flows down the gully so stick to the right hand side. Further up cross the stream and walk up to the North Ridge proper.
