From the col between the two Mythens, reach the Hauptgipfel fore-summit at pt.1763m on a good path, where the scrambling begins. Negotiate some rocky pinnacles before a traverse on steep grass, on the east side of the ridge, leads to some rock steps on the left up into a niche. A steep corner provides a challenging exit on good rock, after which the summit quickly follows. Alternatively, the traversing path can also be followed to join up with the normal route.
In descent, the top of the steep corner is difficult to find. It lies a few metres below a couple of prominent small pinnacles on the ridge, as seen from the summit. Follow the normal route down the first rock step then traverse a few metres right, now just below the pinnacles. Step down into a sheltered grass platform, where an old-style bolt near a horizontal crack on the wall on the right marks the top of the corner.
