βeta: going direct round the chockstone at the steep section is also good and quite hard. Nice route overall with good situations.(March 2006 ascent)

DSM 20 Jan, 2013 Solo Soloed in Walshes while on a run around the fells. A big mistake really due to large amount of powder snow & spindrift coupled with very strong wind. Ropes etc advised in these conditions!

barney@helmshore 7 Feb, 2010 Solo O/S Getting a bit thin but still no sign of a chockstone (perhaps it's been nicked for someone’s garden!) snow was very sugary and towards the top was an awkward rock step. Still a pleasant outing.

Jon Wickham 10 Feb, 2009 Lead O/S Regretted roping up until we got to the chockstone which we avoided due to the minimal amount of snow on it. I went up the ramp on the left then traveresed right along awkward ledges to above the chock stone. This felt more like III than II. Great views on the summit.
