Please refrain from climbing outside

Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.

We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.

snowy_woodruff 4 Jul, 2015 - Started at the carpark above the village in mist and wind, took a gradual climb skirting round the base of the main summit to the hill fort with an anticlockwise circuit inside the fort entering at 6 position leaving through the large gate down to the plateau at 8position, still very windy but breaks of sunshine - hill fort is amazing. Followed a slightly winding but good track accross the plateau and upto the main summit now glorious sunshine bit still a stiff breeze. From the main summit headed seawards over some steep mid size boulder scree as if to go up the radio mast summit but just meandered down through the old quarry workings (bit heavy going in places) all the way to the beach for a brief paddle in sea then a cup of tea and cake at the welsh language center before plodding up the road back to the carpark. 12km, lovely day
