The MCC brings together all who are interested in the climbing scene in the Maltese Islands, whether bouldering, traditional leading, sport climbing, Alpinism or Mountaineering. We aim to promote the sport locally, develop international relations, organise climbing-related activities and be able to represent climbers on access issues, amongst other goals. Our members include Malta's first ever Everest summiteers, guidebook author John Codling, veteran local climbers and the top local as well as foreign climbers. We organise regular meets and beginners' days as well as climb regularly all over the island, exploring and developing new crags. We maintain a comprehensive database of new routes and are currently producing a guidebook to climbing in the Maltese Islands together with Stevie Haston. We have a small climbing wall at the Sliema Scouts Headquarters in Sliema which has become a popular meeting spot for both local and foreign climbers.
The MCC is since October 2017 a full member of the UIAA and a founding member of EUMA, the European Union of Mountaineering Associations.
