Im planning on a backpacking trip across the higher summits of the Lakes starting on monday. I was after any idea on ground conditions, as with concerns to snow and amount of. Was hoping to leave the axe at home. Any information would be greatful for the following areas.
Coniston old man
Crinkle Crags
Gables/Black Sail
Langdale Pikes
Can't provide specific conditions for those areas, however Helvellyn was in definite winter condition yesterday (from just below red tarn to the summit). A lot of snow elsewhere on nearby peaks.
