Thanks for the comment Paul. I know that Borders are not everyones cup of tea, I'm just playing around with different borders currently and felt that this one worked here.

Dont like it, sorry Paul. Unneccesary border, and b+w with a bit of colour cliche. It would be nice to know what he's eyeing up?

That's ok, hope it's useful, but remember it's only my opinion -- it's if you like it that really matters. With the subject looking outside of the frame, it just makes you want to see what he's looking at, why is he looking? So, it seems the real action isn't in the picture. Also, because there's only one limb in shot, we can't tell either (a) how hard this is, he could be standing on a ledge, and (b) what the position is. I think, if you wanted this to be a portrait of James, rather than a bouldering shot, you'd need to have the focus on his eyes, and not his fingers. Feel free to disagree, though!
