You jammy jammy sod!! What a bivvy!!
Malcolm - 06/Jan/06
Jammy sod? Hee hee, you've said it! This huge bank of haar came rolling in from the Minch as I trekked over from the Cam Loch, but I went ahead with the traverse of Suilven anyway, and at 2000ft on the E ridge...
Sun was just setting too. Ever levitated along a hill with elation?
streapadair - 06/Jan/06
Ace shot - if you hadn't captured that scene well you would have been not a happy chappy! A great example of where climbing can take you. well done!

Superb picture, summing up all that is most magic about the mts. Fully deserving its number 1 position on UKC photos.
Gordon Stainforth - 22/Jan/06
Is the horizon a bit squint?
Slugain Howff - 22/Jan/06
Is this as it was on the day or has photoshop lended a hand.
Either way it is a stunning picture and one that I would have stashed under my pillow as a wee laddie.
Slugain Howff - 23/Jan/06
.....lent a hand of course
Slugain Howff - 23/Jan/06
nice pic. well done.
Pacific - 23/Jan/06
Horizon squint? Photoshopped? What are you on about, Mr Howff? No, this one owes nothing to PS, pure Kodachrome tranny.
Thanks for all the kind comments, UKC users.
streapadair - 23/Jan/06
A completely uplifting phot, why we endure the daily grind so as to be able to get out and savour such moments. Brilliant.
Rubbishy - 24/Jan/06
Speaking as a hill lover and Scottish meteorologist(retired), I can say that I do not think I have seen such a fine, striking picture of the temperature inversion phenomenon in our country.
In total envy and admiration of your opportunity, campsite and photo!
Regards
Iain

Great shot by the way
davek - 07/Feb/07
Phoenix Phoxhole - single-skin Goretex, 3 hoops, 1.3kg. It was only produced for a few years around 1980. Great little tent - still got it.
streapadair - 07/Feb/07
Thanks, I've been looking for something similar.
davek - 07/Feb/07
Really great shot. Nostalgic too. Last time I trod Suilven I walked down and had a fantastic supper at the local Seaman's Mission for 2/6d
