It happened to be almost exactly 55years since I made the first ascent of this climb, one of my Scugdale favourites. An early start gave me cold damp conditions from overnight mist! I warmed up on Black Wall Area but was alarmed to find the finishes greasy!! I decided to lead Fallen Arch just in case...glad I did as the exit was awful.
