Attempt at first ascent of new multipitch on Gozo. Third pitch was dogged due to damp rock so we have to return!

Great pics Simon, another excellent looking route! Is that a hand jam?

Thanks! Actually there's a good side pull in there, no jammin' here mate!

Why is there a bolt next to a perfect crack gear placement? Is this just lazy or what!!
Sean Kelly - 16/Jun/14
Hardly anyone climbs trad here Sean. Two climbers at most. In fact most of the trad routes here are never climbed. People don't even own trad gear. I decided to call a spade a spade a couple of years ago and realised that sport climbing here is the future. Additionally, the rock here is limestone and often unsuited to trad placements. No point in leading a great line like this trad to see it repeated once every 5 years by some visiting climber! You can't apply British ethics to the current Maltese scenario.

I don't think this is a question of "British ethics", just common sense.
