it is indeed Barn door, i did the first ascent with steve howe who was deputy at plas yr antur at the time.Typically ,cant remember the date,but must have been mid eighties. we discovered it by chance, having turned out to do trojan, which looked a bit 'thin' in the narrows.in fact it was in good nick, but this was fun too! personally i would give it 4 and certainly it looks well into that grade on this amazing photo. Where is it taken from may i ask, i think its prob. falling down as we speak. the route name is an accurate description of an event which occured during my desperate flailings. i'd love to do it with lovely modern ice tools instead of chacal and barracuda. thanks so much for posting this.andy m.

Photo was taken from Foxes path using a 250mm lens, I was out walking with family when i spotted it, came back a couple of days later with a friend and climbed it. Nice thick ice at the time, did feel like a 4 in that condition.
