Here Jim has reached the safety of a large pocket and good gear after the crux section. Jim borrowed a splitter cam from me to fit in the round hole before the crux section. A tri-cam would also fit.

Great shot there Jack. Perhaps even better cropped to lose the ground on the bottom right and just the rock in view?
Anyway - have a 5.

Great photo Jack, interesting to see it with the r/h side cropped, still a 5* though
Nice one Jim, made up for you :)

The thing about a good climbing photo is that either it makes you really want to do the climb, or scares you off attempting it. Have a 5!

Which bit of gear is the splitter cam? and is the rest of the gear poor?
Ally Smith - 06/Jul/10
The splitter cam is the one that is on the far right and extended with a long sling, about 2 metres below Jim's feet. The gear in the large pocket just to the left isn't the best I thought, but I haven't exactly abbed down and magnified the whole wall, so it would be best to climb up there and make your own assessment! I don't know what that higher runner is, I didn't get that, I don't think, but it was a few years ago now that I did it. Cheers.

Cracking shot Jack!

Ally i got there with no spitter cam or tricam to fit the pocket out right. I really thought id be lucky to not the the deck with the 5 bits of gear i did have, including two cams, on two lobes each, and a friction sling. If the old peg pocket gear is good its probably only E5.

P.s. is that sling on the right rope preplaced? tried to place that with my foot but in the end i dropped the sling.
Alex Mason - 15/Jul/10
Actually its never E5. ignore me
