The foreground arete is Bosigran's Commando Ridge. This one was taken at about midnight, the sun had set long ago. The lights are from the village of Pendeen, and reflect against the low cloud. A 4 min exposure allows the cloud and water to blur as it moves towards me. As always, any comments or critiques gratefully recieved, how could it be better?

Thanks all, I get the exposures times for long shots by shooting 30 sec test shots at high ISO and aperture. For example, if 30 secs at ISO1600 works then at ISO100 8mins would be well exposed. Ideally the shots are done in low ISO for better quality. Shooting RAW also give you a bit of room for error, as you can adjust the exposure without losing quality.

Thanks for your comments. There was a full moon just over the Southern Horizon (left). As is often the case with these night photos, the camera picks up more than the eye- it was pretty dark!

To get an equivalent exposure, if you double the ISO, then you would need half the exposure time.
So if 30 secs at ISO1600 works as an exposure, then 60 secs at ISO800 would work, then 2mins@ ISO400, 4mins@ ISO 200 and 8mins@ ISO100
Using this method reduces the time needed to get some test shots for exposure, focus and composition.
