Established in 2008, Boulders has grown and supported the South Wales climbing community for 13 years.
Building on the success of our first centre in Cardiff, we opened a new bouldering facility in Cheltenham in the summer of 2020. Boulders is on a mission to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the benefits the world of climbing has to offer and help them achieve their climbing goals regardless of age, ability or background.
Our centre in Cardiff has a mix of top rope, lead, and bouldering facilities, as well as a large training room. Our Cheltenham site is a state of the art bouldering facility.
We are looking for a full time trainee candidate to work within our maintenance and route setting team. The role will primarily be based in our Cardiff site.
The team are responsible for the maintenance and route setting at both of our sites, as well as externally. This is a trainee role and as such the candidate will work alongside our established route setters and learn from them, allowing the candidate to develop their skills setting a range of different routes and problems.
The successful candidate will:
Have a strong work ethic
Have a willingness to learn and taken on feedback
Have the ability to adapt to new situations and think on their feet
Use their own initiative to work efficiently and safely
Work well within a team
Be able to handle a fast paced job
Desirable (but not essential!) skills:
Some experience with basic route setting
Some experience with manual labour or construction
