For those interested in another longer version ... Many years ago (c.2000) I did a 12-day walk - which I called 'The Peak Grand Tour' - starting and finishing in Derby (at Dolphin Inn, next to Cathedral) that followed the eastern Derwent watershed all the way to its source nr. Bleaklow and then came back on the west side, taking in Axe Edge, the Roaches etc. Staying most nights in pubs en route, but two nice bivvies - one in Robin Hood's Cave on Stanage, and another at Crowstones. It was very varied. and interesting most of the way, and of course took a lot of preplanning and recceing before I did it.
