Mountaineer and cinematographer David Breashears, a pioneer in high altitude film making who summited Mount Everest with a huge specially-built IMAX camera, died on March 14th.

Sad news.

I don't remember another post. I was going to put something up a few days ago and got distracted and forgot.... so thanks.

I met him at Leeds literary festival, a lovely guy, he signed my book. I reminded him about finding Terray's original manuscript of Conquistadors of the Useless as detailed in True Summit. He alluded to it in his subsequent talk.

Just realised I'm talking nonsense I've confused him with Dave Roberts. ŔIP both of them.anyway.

Sorry to read he has died.  I saw his IMAX film at Reghed some years ago and remember being absolutely stunned.
