Currently work in a school where I run the Outdoor Education side of things. I currently deliver the Duke of Edinburgh Award to Years 9 and 10 as well as running the Climbing Club. I have also manged and trained teams for Ten Tors for the last 10 years but since moving jobs I've got to start again from scratch on that front.
I'm a DofE Expedition Assessor for all 3 levels as well as being a Supervisor for Expeditions as well. With having the Summer ML and Winter ML training it means I can deliver "memorable" expeditions for pupils so when they go for a interview they can sell themselves with "stories from their Expedition". Which in turn could make them stand out from the next candidate, also it helps develops a robust individual when they have completed a "challenging" Expedition. As with all Expeditions I tailor the "challenge" to the group and not a "one size fits all". As I am based in the South West for Bronze Expeditions I look at Dartmoor for Practice then going to either Bodmin or Exmoor for the Qualifying, then for Silver we look at going further a field - still Dartmoor for Practice but then Lakes, Snowdon, Breacon Beacons etc for the Silver Qualifying.
