Berghaus has confirmed details of its packed programme at this year's Kendal Mountain Festival (KMF), from 17-19 November. The brand has been associated with the festival for over two decades and, as a major partner, will once again bring athletes, new products and entertainment to Kendal. Featuring the likes of Sir Chris Bonington, Mick Fowler, Leo Houlding and family, Anna Taylor, Morag Skelton, Ed Jackson, Mat Wright, Iona Andean and Waldo Etherington, the Berghaus line-up at KMF will include films, speakers, the latest kit, a party, a hike, and a big presence in the KMF Basecamp Festival Village.

Friday 17 November

Berghaus will be showcasing its latest product developments throughout KMF in the Basecamp Festival Village. From the morning of Friday 17 November, a team on the brand booth will present aspects of the winter 2023 'Cold Studies' campaign, demonstrating how the brand's pioneering insulated products help enthusiasts from all backgrounds continue their endless pursuit of staying outdoors for longer, wherever they go and whatever they do. Alongside reminders of Berghaus' many decades of commitment to innovation, the booth will play host to some of the latest cold weather kit that's at the forefront of performance outdoor gear development today. Visitors will be able to meet members of the product team and Berghaus ambassadors as they drop in over the course of the festival. Elsewhere in Basecamp on the Friday, two charities that Berghaus supports will have displays and other activities – the Millimetres 2 Mountains Foundation and the Bendrigg Trust.

Over at the Brewery Arts Centre, Morag Skelton's film in the Berghaus Ascension Series about her adventures as a deaf climber, has been shortlisted in the BMC Women In Adventure Film Competition 2023, and will be shown as part of an awards ceremony session from 9:30am. At 12:00 noon in the same venue, a short film called 'Freya' will have its public premiere as part of the festival's Human Spirit collection. Narrated by Freya Houlding, the daughter of Leo and Jess Houlding (and sister of Jackson), the film tells the story of how Freya thrives in the outdoors as an autistic child. The Human Spirit collection will run again at 9:30am on the Saturday.

The whole Houlding family star in '2.4', a film that tells the story of how they spend their leisure time together in the wilder corners of the world. The film is part of the festival's Age Is No Barrier collection, and will have its European premiere at 1:00pm, in The Box at Kendal Museum, and will be shown again in the Brewery Arts Centre at 9:30am on the Saturday. A second film from the Berghaus Ascension Series, featuring Hamish Frost, will be part of the festival's Mountain – Red collection, shown in the arts centre on Friday (2:30pm) and Saturday (9:00am).

Back in Basecamp, ropes guru Waldo Etherington will untangle 'A life in the trees' on stage from 3:15-3:45pm (free to attend – check the KMF website for full details). Visitors will hear the story of a climber whose adventures have taken him to the world's highest peaks. Waldo combines his passion for climbing with a deep commitment to environmental conservation (and a love for all things arboreal). Later in the afternoon, from 4:00pm, Waldo will be joined by other ambassadors for the Berghaus Happy Hour on the brand's booth, and festival goers are invited to join them for a drink.

In Kendal Town Hall at 4:30pm, Berghaus will present 'Unsupported: Ed Jackson, Darren Edwards and Niall McCann'. In April 2023, adaptive adventurers Ed, Darren and Niall embarked on a 150km journey across Western Europe's largest ice cap, Vatnajokull, in Iceland. United by a single rope, they overcame challenges together. Along with filmmaker Matt Pycroft, the three men will share the story from the ice, along with footage from the trip. The expedition raised funds for the Millimetres 2 Mountains Foundation, helping others recover from trauma through outdoor adventures. As part of its ongoing project to help make the outdoors accessible for everyone, Berghaus adapted key pieces of kit for the team, some of which will be on display in Basecamp throughout the festival.Friday will conclude with the return of the Haus Party at The Barrel House. Saturday 18 November

From 11:00am, Millimetres 2 Mountains (M2M) and Common Ground will team up for a community hike with support from Berghaus. Starting and finishing just outside Basecamp in Abbot Hall Park, this will continue the partnership between Berghaus and Common Ground, as well as bringing in Ed Jackson's charity M2M. The hike will focus on the mental wellbeing that being outdoors can provide with M2M helping to facilitate this through breathwork exercises throughout the hike. As well as the Common Ground team, Berghaus ambassadors will take part in the walk, which will take in some of the beautiful landscape around Kendal before returning to the town at around 2:00pm. The community hike is free to join.

Berghaus athlete and mountaineering legend Mick Fowler will be busy during the day. After a 9:30am appearance at The North Face and Petzl Climb Session in Kendal Leisure Centre, Mick will take to the stage in Basecamp at 3:15pm to offer his thoughts on 'When it all goes wrong', sharing a story that goes beyond typical adventure tales, featuring food deprivation, broken bones and much more. It's free to attend, but visitors are advised to arrive early for what is sure to be a very popular and entertaining session.

A second Berghaus Happy Hour will follow Mick's presentation, before attention switches to the Brewery Arts Centre and '25 years of adventure with Leo Houlding' from 5:00pm. Leo has led landmark expeditions around the world in vastly different environments, with equally diverse teams. He will offer insights into his career so far, including his two most recent trips - a return to Mount Asgard in the Arctic Circle, and his latest family adventure with his wife Jess and their children Freya and Jackson. During the session, Leo will introduce another screening of 2.4.

Sunday 19 November

On the Sunday, the Berghaus booth in Basecamp will be open for business again, welcoming visitors and showcasing the Cold Studies project, with team members and brand ambassadors on hand during the day.
