On 25th June fell running legend Joss Naylor ran from Caldbeck in the north of the Lake District to his home in Wasdale, a distance of nearly 50km. The run marked his 80th year.
Joss was running in memory of his father, Joe Naylor, who was born in Caldbeck and moved to Wasdale in 1927.
He's also been raising money for the Brathay Trust, which works with some of the most disadvantaged children & young people in the UK.
'A big thank you to everyone who came out to support my run & bike ride on Saturday' he wrote on his Justgiving page.
'The whole day was magic and support from runners, spectators and friends was wonderful. The promotion of Brathay's work and donations to help disadvantaged young people has been fantastic.'
'I've increased my target to £12,000 as a result of the generous support on Saturday.'
Local guide David Powell-Thompson, who was among those to join Joss on the day, said:
'I was pleased and proud to be able to support Joss on his event. I feel humbled in his presence - he has done so much and is still giving both time and effort to local causes, in this case The Brathay Trust. Long may it continue.'
