It's been a while since we ran a Friday film on UKH. So here's a behind-the-scenes clip from mountain film maker Terry Abraham's work in progress, 'Life of a Mountain: Scafell Pike'. Here the BMC's new Hill Walking Development Officer Carey Davies discusses some of the issues surrounding visitor pressure on England's highest crowd magnet.

Life of a Mountain... will be an independently-produced two-hour documentary that follows the Pike through the course of a year, and features a cast of folk who live, work, care and play around this iconic fell, from your Naylors and your Birketts to unsung National Trust rangers and members of the public.

'In 'Life of a Mountain: Scafell Pike' I hope to bring back some of the awe-inspiring beauty, drama and romance of the Lake District and of course Scafell Pike' Terry explains. 'Inspire others to visit the area and see it differently. What you'll see in the film will be sights we can all experience. The real deal.'

'Equally, I intend to reveal the work that goes in and around this mass of hills, ensuring they endure for all in the future, and give insights into the lives of those who live and work nearby.'

Terry Abraham's new project follows on the heels of his recent well-received film The Cairngorms in Winter with Chris Townsend (see UKH review here). The Scafell Pike film is being paid for through crowd-sourced funding - see here for more info.
