Part of the Dig Deep Races, this race takes you from the edge of the City of Sheffield right through to the edge of the Peak District. It goes from one valley floor over the tops through to the second, with unprecedented views of the City along the way. Couple that with trails that more than make you want to run, and we believe we have "Six of the best country miles you'll ever want to run!"
The route
The race will be part of a weekend of races to be held at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust in Sheffield. As well as the Whirlow Trail Challenge race there will be a 60 mile Ultra, a 30 mile Ultra and a 12.12mile race.
The route has been chosen because of its stunning scenery and the varied nature of the route. It’s also chosen to be a ‘challenge’ so it’s certainly undulating, mostly uphill in various gradients for the first half and mainly downhill for the second, with a good last push uphill!
Who can take part?
We have a minimum age of 16 but no maximum ages. The event will hold six categories – Senior Male, Senior Female, Veteran Male, Veteran Female (veteran = over 40), Veteran Male (over 50) and Veteran Female (over 50).
What facilities will there be?
We will have food and drinks on site along with toilets and changing facilities. Camping is also available on site – please pre book.
Please...
Please be sure to study the route map before the race. The route will be marshalled at key points and well signposted, please be sure to follow the specified route exactly as we have been careful to get the relevant permissions for the areas it covers. Please take extra care when crossing roads.
