Whaley Moor (Black Hill) is a pleasant ridge between Lyme Park and Whaley Bridge. An ancient stone (the Dipping Stone) is located on its south-east slope at SJ996816. This would have held stone crosses visible from Bow Stones.

This summit has been climbed in 17 logbooks.A number of public footpaths go up to the ridge from Mudhurst Lane where there are parking bays.
