Murla faces west, getting plenty of afternoon sun. It is steep enough to be sheltered from the rain.
The best approach is from Benissa (N332 and/or AP-7 junction 63 depending on whether you are coming from Calp or the motorway). From here take either the CV-745 via Senija, or the CV-750, towards Xaló/Jalon. Drive through here and on for 3km to the town of Alcalalí. At the T-junction in town, turn left then immediately right (signed 'Murla/Orba'). Continue along the CV750, passing Alcalalí, and bearing right at a crossroads towards Orba. A couple of hundred metres after the junction is a right turn into an urbanisation (the crag can be seen up and right). Drive to the highest point on the urbanisation which is a T junction next to an electricity substation. Park so as not to obstruct the gate/fence across the road as it is used daily for water deposits. Get round the fence on the right and walk up the road to the water pumping building. The well-maintained and cairned path is behind and on the right of the building, it rises towards the left-hand end of the cliff.
The new easy sector mayor is a tad over graded. Pleasant enough and well bolted, so if you looking for super easy and safe its great, but don'tget too excited. Sector Crazy Crazy is great though with some new 5's and 6's and again friendly in the grading but not quite to extent of the previous sector....amazing setting and well worth a visit if you're in the area. mikemontain - 21/Nov/13 |
