This area is typically warmer than the main park and slightly more sheltered from the wind, especially Rattlesnake Canyon.
Outside the main park and about 20-30 minutes from each main entrance. No entry fee needed for this area but normal park rules apply regarding respect for the rock and trail awareness.

Indian Cove Campground routes: roadside
Rattlesnake Canyon: 10-20 mins via climber's "trails" and boulder hopping
Two miles south of the ranger station is Indian Cove campground. The regular campground is straight ahead and the group campground is just before then entrance, on the right. Rattlesnake Canyon is located further back. Once in the main Indian Cove Campground, veer left down a dirt road for Rattlesnake Canyon and park near a pit toilet.
