Originally known as Sgaps locally but more accurately called Geo of Creagan Righe in the new Scottish Rock Climbs guidebook published by Wired/SMC. An impressive Geo with smooth parrellel sided walls and big sea cave at the back. Routes are generally sustained and well protected, double set of cams helpful. Descent by abseil to non-tidal ledges.
Some photos can be found on Simon Nadins Flickr.
Sometimes birded during summer if no one has visited in Spring.
Park considerately on the track tothe cemetery, hard up against the fence to let other vehicles pass, potentially tractor with trailer. Walk towards the sea and cut south. There is a dry stone wall running down towards the back of the Geo.
Park with consideration to visitors to the cemetery and farmers access to field.
Also be wary of disturbing birds during nesting season - as the guano evidence in the guidebook photo clearly shows, birds are present here, and close to some of the routes.
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
