Access pt.1431, Scheidegg, from the west or east and take the marked metal path (really) north into the woods up to the minor summit Dürrenbüchel 1571m, great wooden bench. Shortly further north as the main path departs eastward towards Brüggler (Brückler) take the eroded track steeply north up Marchegg until right underneath the south flank wall. Some steeper parts here will already be unpleasant to serious if wet.

At the wall there is a large blue dot on the wall by a steep rock chimney, but follow the path (also marked) westwards under the wall until the path turns right and follows a gully, fairly steeply, to the summit. The main hands-on experience is three steeper / exposed sections that are equipped with chains: one of them to ascend a corner is little strenuous and awkward.

Given T4 in the SAC wanderskala and 1 star here in compensation for the view and situation rather then the "scrambling". Easier overall than the T4 route traversing Plattenberg and much easier than the Ochsenchopf normal route .
