In June 2022 signage was installed by the landowner indicating that they do not wish crags on the west side of the dale (Griff's, Black & Deckout, etc.) to be climbed on.
Negotiations to secure access have failed to reach a positive outcome. As such climbers should be aware that the owner does not permit access to west/lower Blackwell Dale. Any climber choosing to visit therfore does so against the wishes of the landowner and should politely leave without complaint if asked to do so.

βeta: Don't know what current consensus is with climbing at Griffs, but the comment on the RAD implies a "climb at your own risk" narrative rather than "avoid climbing so as to not tarnish the reputation of the climbing community"? Can anyone advise further? | βeta? | |
