The mini-crag for the low-to-mid grade boulderer who likes a walk and a summit tick thrown in. This exposed, west-facing crag is situated approximately 0.5km north of the summit of Beamsley Beacon. Although relatively easily accessible it has a remote feel overlooking Bardon Fell and sited high above the Wharfedale valley. The rock is solid moorland grit that remains clean.
From the centre of Ilkley, cross the bridge over the River Wharfe and turn left onto Denton Road. Follow this heading north along the winding minor roads of Langbar Road, Hardings Lane and Curren Lane for about 7km onto Lanshaw Bank and park at the car park just beyond Beacon Hill House.
Follow the well-worn path northeast to the top of Beamsley Beacon and continue on to the top of Old Pike. From here, the rocks can be seen approximately 350m to the northwest. To get to the crag, drop down slightly and follow the drystone wall around to the top of the crag.
