The West Face of Afantinzar Peak, bounding the eastern end of the Afantinzar valley above Ighir forms a tremendous cirque of towers that somehow escaped the attention of climbers during the initial exploration of the region. Viewed from afar, these crags appear as a continuous face, but closer inspection reveals at least 13 buttresses and towers that provide a superb and varied array of climbing with an easy approach and generally straightforward descents.
