The Arrow E2 5c Craig Cwm Trwsgl © Pencarth
A big generally rambling cliff (multi-pitch routes up to 320ft) which, though broken, has some good bits of rock among the plants. The best buttress lies to the left side of the crag. Little known but deserves better. Notable for Day of Reckoning (E3 5c) and Exterminating Angel (E3 6a).
If based in the south of the park leave th A487 at Dolbenmaen take the minor road leading to the head of Cwm Pennant (take care with parking not to block the road) and walk along the Bwlch y ddwy Elor track to below the cliff.
If based in the north of the park drive into Beddgelert Forest at Pont Cae'r Gors (between Beddgelert and Rhyd Ddu). Park near Hafod Ruffydd. Walk up the Bwlch Cwm Trwsgl path (this is difficult to follow on first acquaintance) and cross a boggy section to the left end of the crag.
Hafod Ruffydd is also spelt wrongly (see OS map) Pencarth - 27/Oct/10 |
