Crag features

A selection of crags on the hill side above the sheep fank before reaching Loch Mama. The majority face South and are exceptionally clean and rough, much reminiscent of climbing on weathered Gneiss.

The grid reference here is for the sheep fank itself, with the crags dotted further up the hillside above and described individually.

Approach notes

Park considerately somewhere around the access road to Glenn Mama farm. Walk along the track past the farm building and then follow the west bank of the stream through the wonderful old Oak wood forest to reach the sheep fank in around 30 minutes. The crags are a further 15-20 minutes up the hillside from here.

Please DON'T park at the entrance to the farm, there is a no parking sign here and there has been tension between locals and climbers over the past few years. The farmer is very friendly and if you catch him around he'll probably be okay with parking there but another local farmer seems to have it out for anyone parking anywhere on this road that isn't a designated lay-by. If you encouter him, please be nice but don't yield to his demands if you're parked sensibly and causing no obstruction.

The best alternative is about 100m further along the road where the verge is big enough to fit a few cars on the right (driving west), or further along by the Viaduct.
