A collection of rocks scattered through Ausewell Woods. The only documented or worthwhile climbing is located on the formation known as Hazel Tor.
From the car park bear slightly left and walk 100m up a track. Turn left onto another track which curves initially, then runs straight up to the hill. The rocks rise mysteriously out of the conifers at the head of the track.
The woodland is owned by the Woodland Trust and the National Trust and is currently open to the public, although there is no formal climibng agreement in place. Be polite if challenged and leave if asked to do so. Don't risk future access by leaving litter, being noisy, creating a fire risk etc.
